SIARGAO BIOHACKING AT VULTUN

A WAY OF LIVING. A STATE OF MIND.

Protocol, not just a plunge.

THE SEED IS SPIRITUAL. THE CONTAINER IS SCIENCE.

Vultun is a biohacking and wellness experience in Siargao. Contrast therapy, red light, IV infusions, breathwork, meditation, peptides. Everything here is grounded in science, even the practices that feel esoteric. We create the conditions for your body to heal, perform, and grow.

You already know something needs to change. Maybe you’ve been running on caffeine and discipline for years and the math is starting to show. Maybe you moved to Siargao to reset and realized the island won’t do it for you. Maybe you’ve built a routine that works at home and you need a space that keeps up with you while you travel. Either way, you’re looking for something that actually works.

Vultun is a biohacking and wellness experience in Siargao. Contrast therapy, red light, IV infusions, breathwork, meditation, peptides. Everything here is grounded in science, even the practices that feel esoteric. We are not a spa. We are not a gym. We are a system built around the idea that your body already has the intelligence to heal, perform, and grow. We create the conditions.

Every protocol here started the same way: I tried it on myself first. Biohacking rebuilt my health from the ground up. Now we’re building a space where you can access the same tools, backed by a team of physicians and practitioners who make sure everything is safe, sequenced, and built for you.

THE COMPLETE BIOHACKING PROTOCOL

Six modalities. One system. Built from lived experience.

CONTRAST THERAPY

IN DEVELOPMENT

Ice Bath + Sauna

Heat opens you up. Cold shuts you down. The cycling between sauna and ice bath flushes your muscles, drops inflammation, and spikes the neurotransmitter that makes you feel sharp and alive. Research shows a 200-300% norepinephrine increase.

CONTRAST THERAPY: THE DIALOGUE OF VULCAN & NEPTUNE

IN DEVELOPMENT

The crucible. The place where something new is forged.

Vulcan is fire. Neptune is deep water. Vultun lives where they meet. That tension is not a metaphor. It is biology. When you alternate between sauna heat (80–100°C) and cold immersion (3–5°C), blood vessels expand and contract in rapid cycles. Metabolic waste flushes. Inflammation drops. Your nervous system releases a hormonal cascade it rarely produces at rest. There is an inner light we find when we put ourselves through the crucible. Controlled stress, repeated consistently, is how the body upgrades itself. The science calls it hormesis. We call it practice.

The Vultun protocol: 3–4 rounds of 10–15 minutes sauna followed by 2–3 minutes cold. Begin with heat. End cold for the strongest anti-inflammatory effect.

Ice Bath (Cold Water Immersion)

Eleven minutes per week. That's the threshold. At 10 degrees C, norepinephrine spikes 200-300%. That's the neurotransmitter behind focus, mood, and energy. Your blood vessels constrict, flushing waste from muscles. Inflammation drops within minutes.

  • Less soreness after surf, training, or travel
  • Dopamine spikes by up to 250%. The clarity lasts 2-4 hours
  • Your body burns energy to rewarm itself. Metabolism wakes up.
  • Cold tolerance builds with practice. So does mental resilience.

Sauna (Heat Exposure)

A study of 2,300 men found sauna use 4x per week reduced all-cause mortality by 40%. Forty percent. Sit in a hot room regularly and you live longer. Heat shock proteins protect your cells and repair your muscles while you do nothing but sweat.

  • Deep muscle relaxation. The kind stretching can't reach.
  • Your heart gets a workout without moving your body
  • Growth hormone releases after 15 minutes of sustained heat
  • You sweat from the inside out. Everything loosens.

RED LIGHT THERAPY (PHOTOBIOMODULATION)

COMING SOON

Ten minutes of stillness. Your cells do the rest.

A dark room. A panel of red and near-infrared light. You stand in front of it for ten minutes. Warm glow on your skin. Nothing dramatic happens in the room. The dramatic part happens inside your tissue. These wavelengths penetrate deep, reaching muscle, joint, and bone. They activate your mitochondria to produce more energy. Tissue repair accelerates. Inflammation quiets. Collagen production increases. Professional sports teams use this exact technology for recovery between competitions.

Published research confirms red light therapy measurably reduces muscle damage markers after exercise. The wavelengths (660nm red, 850nm near-infrared) penetrate 5-7cm into tissue. The science is established. The application is simple: stand in front of the light.

  • Faster muscle repair between surf sessions
  • Less joint pain in shoulders, knees, and ankles
  • Better skin from increased collagen production
  • Deeper sleep through circadian rhythm support

Ten to fifteen minutes, 3-5 times per week. That’s it.

BIOHACKING FOR SURFERS: THE POST-SURF RECOVERY PROTOCOL

You surf. We handle the after.

Three days of Cloud 9 and your shoulders know it. Your lower back tightens. Your pop-up loses a half-second. You can feel the week accumulating in your body, and no amount of stretching on the beach fixes it. Siargao demands more from your body than most surf destinations because you actually surf here. Every day. In warm water that keeps your muscles loose enough to ignore the damage until it stacks up. We built this protocol for that exact situation.

THE TROPICAL ADVANTAGE

People ask: why do an ice bath in the tropics? Because the contrast is sharper here. When you go from 30 degree air into 3-5 degree water, the shock is bigger than in a cold-climate country. Siargao amplifies the protocol. The tropics are the advantage, not the obstacle.

The Vultun Surf Recovery Stack

1

Surf Session

Cloud 9, Jacking Horse, or your break of choice.

2

Wait 30–60 Minutes

Let acute inflammation peak naturally. Immediate cold exposure can interfere with the body’s natural repair signal if applied within 20 minutes of intense exertion.

3

Cold Immersion (2–3 min)

Norepinephrine spikes. Inflammatory markers drop. Metabolic waste flushes from muscles.

4

Sauna (10–15 min)

Blood vessels dilate. Deep muscle relaxation. Growth hormone begins to release.

5

Repeat 2–3 Cycles

Each cycle deepens the recovery effect.

6

Breathwork (10 min)

Activates the parasympathetic nervous system. Cortisol drops. Prepares the body for deep recovery sleep.

7

IV Hydration (optional)

Directly replenishes electrolytes lost during a long session. 100% bioavailability. Opening soon. Learn more.

Note on cold and strength training: research shows immediate cold exposure post-strength training can modestly reduce long-term muscle growth. Delay cold by 4+ hours after gym work. For surf sessions (cardio and skill-based), this concern largely does not apply.

THE TEAM BEHIND THE PROTOCOL

Built from experience. Backed by professionals.

Every modality at Vultun is something I tested on myself first. Breathwork, cold exposure, calisthenics, meditation, fasting. These practices rebuilt my health from the ground up. But building this for other people requires more than personal experience. It requires professionals who can screen, customize, and monitor. That is why we assembled a medical team: three licensed physicians and a nursing lead who ensure that every protocol is safe, sequenced correctly, and adapted to the person in front of them.

What the Team Provides

Intake screening before your first session: cardiovascular history, medications, contraindications

Protocol customization based on your goals and health history

Physician presence during IV therapy and advanced treatments

Treatments ordered in the right sequence, not random stacking

Who Should Consult a Doctor Before Cold Exposure

The following conditions require medical clearance before ice bath or contrast therapy:

  • Known or suspected cardiovascular disease or arrhythmia
  • Uncontrolled hypertension
  • Raynaud’s disease or other cold-hypersensitivity conditions
  • Active acute injury or open wounds
  • Pregnancy
  • Certain medications including beta blockers and diuretics

At Vultun, our intake process screens for all of these. We do not turn people away. We design the right protocol for where you are.

BREATHWORK & MENTAL CLARITY

IN DEVELOPMENT

The breath is where the physical meets the metaphysical.

After ten days of silent meditation, I learned what the breath can actually do. Not the soft breathing you do in a yoga class. The kind that rewires your nervous system in real time. Controlled breathwork before cold immersion activates your sympathetic nervous system on command, reducing the cold shock response and extending how long you can stay in. A 2014 PNAS study documented this mechanism. After contrast therapy, breathwork flips the switch: parasympathetic activation, cortisol drops, deep recovery begins. The breath is the bridge between the work and the rest.

  • Guided Breathwork: Structured sessions before cold exposure to prepare your system and reduce shock response.
  • Meditation: Breath-anchored sessions for deep parasympathetic activation post-contrast therapy.
  • Mindfulness: Presence-based practices that compound the clarity produced by cold exposure.

PEPTIDE THERAPY & TARGETED SUPPLEMENTATION

COMING SOON

Signal your biology. Precision, not guesswork.

Peptides are biological signals. They tell specific cells to repair, regenerate, or perform. Think of them as precise instructions your body already understands. This is not a supplement you buy online. At Vultun, every peptide protocol is designed with our medical team and individually assessed before anything is prescribed.

Peptide therapy is launching soon. Protocols are being finalized now.

  • BPC-157: Research supports use for tissue and joint repair. Commonly used in recovery from surf-related shoulder and knee injuries.
  • Semaglutide: Weight management and appetite regulation. The same compound used in clinical programs worldwide, administered by our medical team.
  • Tirzepatide: Next-generation weight management. More targeted than semaglutide. Dr. Pangga holds PAAMI/AMI certification for this protocol.

All peptide protocols require a medical consultation and individual assessment. Not available over the counter.

Personalized Supplementation

Targeted micronutrient protocols designed to complement your biohacking stack. Every protocol is tailored to the individual. No one-size supplements.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Biohacking in Siargao: everything you need to know.

Where can I do an ice bath in Siargao?

Several spots in Siargao offer ice baths. Mujo, Asgard, and Buddha Wellness all have cold plunge options. Vultun is building Siargao’s first contrast therapy space with both ice bath and sauna at our Malinao location. Ours will include intake screening and protocol design, because cold exposure hits different when someone checks your blood pressure first. We’re in development now. Message us on WhatsApp if you want to know when we open.

Is there a sauna in Siargao?

Yes. Asgard and Valhalla both have saunas. Vultun is adding a sauna as part of our contrast therapy protocol, paired with ice bath in a dedicated space at SOS Gym Malinao. Our spa, pilates, and surf services are open now at Jacking Horse Beach and Malinao.

What is biohacking?

The short version: using your biology on purpose. Cold exposure, heat, light, breath, targeted nutrition. Not supplements from Instagram. Not a trend. The tools are old. The science is catching up. At Vultun, every protocol is something Jay tested on himself before offering it to anyone else. The seed is spiritual. The container is science.

What is contrast therapy?

Alternating between sauna heat (80-100 degrees C) and cold immersion (3-5 degrees C). Your blood vessels expand, then contract, then expand again. That cycling flushes metabolic waste, drops inflammation markers, and spikes norepinephrine by 200-300%. A Finnish study of 2,300 men found sauna use 4x per week reduced all-cause mortality by 40%. The Vultun protocol: 3-4 rounds, 10-15 minutes sauna, 2-3 minutes cold. Begin with heat. End cold.

What are the benefits of cold water immersion after surfing?

Your shoulders, hips, and lower back just spent hours in repetitive load. Cold water drops the inflammation that builds in those joints. Dopamine spikes by up to 250% and holds for 2-4 hours. You feel sharp, clear, energized. One thing: wait 30-60 minutes after your session. Immediate cold can blunt the natural repair signal your body is already running.

How cold should an ice bath be?

For most people: 10-15 degrees C is the therapeutic range. Cold enough to trigger the norepinephrine response without overwhelming your system. Experienced practitioners go 4-10 degrees C. Vultun targets 3-5 degrees C. Never go below 4 degrees C without someone experienced present. Duration: 2-5 minutes.

Is cold exposure safe?

For healthy adults, yes. The risk is for people who don’t know they have a problem. Undiagnosed cardiovascular conditions, hypertension, Raynaud’s disease, certain medications, pregnancy. The cold shock response on entry can trigger arrhythmia in vulnerable people. That’s why we screen before your first session. Not to gatekeep. To design the right protocol for where you are.

What does Vultun offer right now?

Six live offerings: therapeutic massage and energetic healing at Jacking Horse Beach, Reformer Pilates at Feral, yoga, barre, mat pilates, and dance at Holding Space, sound healing and meditation at Holding Space, and guided surf at Jacking Horse. IV therapy opens soon. The rest of the biohacking stack is in development.

What is IV therapy and when does it open?

IV therapy delivers vitamins and nutrients directly into your bloodstream. 100% bioavailability versus 30-80% for oral supplements. Vultun’s IV clinic opens soon at SOS Gym Malinao with 10 treatments: hydration, athletic recovery, immunity, glutathione, energy, NAD+ longevity, travel recovery, plus slimming, regenerative, and botox launching after. See the full IV therapy menu.

What peptides will Vultun offer?

Three to start: BPC-157 for tissue and joint repair (relevant for surfers dealing with shoulders and knees), semaglutide for weight management, and tirzepatide as a next-generation metabolic protocol. All require medical consultation and are administered by our medical team. The peptide program launches alongside IV therapy. Learn more about our peptide program.

Who is on the medical team?

Dr. Luisa De Borja (Medical Director, MD/DPBO/RN, 20+ years clinical), Dr. Pangga Somera Avenido (Founding Medical Consultant, PAAMI/AMI Fellow in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine), Dr. Boyd (On-Call Physician, Board Certified Family Medicine, licensed in the Philippines, California, and Oregon), and Elvira Mercado RN (Nursing Lead, IV administration specialist). The same team runs our IV therapy clinic.

What makes Vultun different from other biohacking options in Siargao?

Most places offer one modality. A plunge pool. A sauna. We’re building an integrated system: contrast therapy, red light, IV therapy, breathwork, peptides. All designed to work together, all with intake screening and medical oversight. Pair that with surf, pilates, massage, sound healing, and yoga already running across two locations. The recovery is as intentional as the effort.

Can I combine biohacking with surfing?

That’s the whole idea. Surf Cloud 9 or Jacking Horse in the morning. Come to Malinao for recovery in the afternoon. Right now that means pilates, yoga, massage, or sound healing. When the full biohacking stack opens: contrast therapy, red light, IV hydration. The Siargao lifestyle is the training. The biohacking is the recovery.

Where is the biohacking space located?

SOS Gym, Ground Floor, Malinao, General Luna, Surigao del Norte. Same building as Feral Pilates and Feral Movement. Our beachfront spa and surf are at Jacking Horse Beach, Catangnan. View on Google Maps.

How do I book?

Message us on WhatsApp. We respond within 30 minutes during business hours. For Reformer Pilates and movement classes, you can also book directly through the scheduling system on each service page. Walk-ins welcome for massage at Jacking Horse.
