COME BACK TO YOURSELF

Sound healing in Siargao offers something the island's high-energy lifestyle doesn't: permission to stop.

Our sound healing, meditation, and breathwork sessions at Holding Space provide structured practices for nervous system regulation, stress release, and deep presence. This isn't passive relaxation; it's active recovery and transformational wellness.

Pair restoration with yoga or Barre to release tension first, Reformer Pilates for strength, IV therapy for cellular recovery, or therapeutic massage at our beachfront Spa for complete body-mind recovery.

THE SCIENCE

SOUND HEALING

A study in the Journal of Evidence-Based Integrative Medicine measured what happens during singing bowl meditation. Tension, anxiety, and depressed mood all dropped significantly. A 16-year systematic review of 19 clinical studies confirmed the pattern. The bowls are doing something. Science is catching up.

BREATHWORK

Twelve randomized controlled trials. 785 participants. The conclusion: breathwork lowers cortisol and stress levels compared to controls. Slow breathing stimulates the vagus nerve directly, shifting your nervous system from fight-or-flight toward rest-and-repair.

IS THIS FOR YOU?

THIS IS FOR YOU IF:

  • You carry tension that massage alone doesn't release
  • You want to build a meditation practice but struggle alone
  • You're processing big emotions, transitions, or stuck patterns
  • You're curious about breathwork but want a safe container
  • You want nervous system tools you can use beyond the session

THIS MAY NOT BE FOR YOU IF:

  • You're looking for therapy (this is complementary, not replacement)
  • You have certain cardiovascular conditions (ask us first)
  • You're uncomfortable with stillness (but we can work with that)
  • You expect instant fixes (restoration is practice, not performance)

TIMON KUKWA

Holotropic Breathwork • Meditation • Intuitive Coaching • Nervous System Regulation

Timon is a certified breathwork facilitator and meditation guide originally from Germany. His journey from academia to the healing arts has taken him across Guatemala, Thailand, and the Philippines — training in holotropic breathwork, somatic practices, and intuitive coaching along the way. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I've never done sound healing or meditation before. Is this for beginners?

Absolutely. Our group sessions are designed for all levels. The facilitator guides you through every step. There's no "doing it wrong" — just showing up is enough.

What happens during a sound healing session?

You lie down on a comfortable mat with blankets and an eye mask. Singing bowls, crystal bowls, and chimes are played around you, creating waves of sound. Most people enter a deeply relaxed state. A study in the Journal of Evidence-Based Integrative Medicine found singing bowl meditation significantly reduced tension, anxiety, and depressed mood (Source). Some people fall asleep, some experience vivid imagery, some simply rest. Each session is different.

Is breathwork safe for everyone?

Breathwork is generally safe for healthy adults, but the practices we use can be intense. Please let us know if you have cardiovascular issues, are pregnant, or have a history of seizures, and we'll advise on modifications or alternatives.

What should I wear?

Comfortable, loose clothing you can lie down and breathe freely in. Layers are helpful as body temperature can fluctuate during sessions.

Can I combine restoration with other Vultun services?

Yes — many guests pair restoration with yoga beforehand to release tension, or book after Pilates or massage for complete body-mind recovery. Our upcoming credit membership will make this seamless across all Vultun services.

How often should I come?

Weekly sessions create the most noticeable shifts. A meta-analysis of 12 randomized trials (785 participants) found breathwork consistently lowers cortisol and stress levels compared to controls (Source). Even monthly practice helps maintain nervous system regulation.

What's the difference between sound healing and meditation?

Sound healing is primarily receptive — you lie down and let the sound waves do the work. Meditation is more active internally — you're directing attention, even when guided. Sound healing often leads to meditation-like states without the effort.

Where are the sessions held?

All restoration sessions are held at Holding Space by Vultun, our dedicated mindfulness studio in Unit 4, SOS Gym Malinao.

Can I do yoga before sound healing?

Yes, this is a beautiful combination. A gentle yoga class at Feral Movement helps release physical tension so you can drop into sound healing more easily. Many guests book yoga first, then walk next door for restoration. Both studios are in Unit 4, SOS Gym Malinao.
