FERAL PILATES & PHYSICAL THERAPY SIARGAO

There Is A Wilderness Within You

Location: SOS Gym in Malinao

SIARGAO'S FIRST & ONLY REFORMER PILATES STUDIO

Intelligent movement. Clinical precision. An untamed spark.

Feral is where Pilates meets physical therapy. A studio built for people who want more than exercise. Whether you're a surfer chasing power, a traveler seeking recovery, or someone ready to rebuild from the ground up, this is movement with intention. Small classes. Expert guidance. Results you can feel.

A systematic review of 14 clinical trials found Pilates is one of the most effective interventions for chronic low back pain, outperforming aerobic exercise. When a licensed PT is guiding your session, that's not a workout. That's targeted rehabilitation. (Source)

GROUP CLASSES & SCHEDULE

The Reformer is where transformation becomes tangible. Springs create resistance. Resistance creates strength. And strength, built slowly with intention, becomes the foundation for everything else you do in life.

Unlike gym machines that isolate muscles, the Reformer trains your body as a unified system. Every exercise demands core engagement, breath control, and precise alignment. Four students maximum per class. Four reformers. One hour of focused, intelligent movement that you'll feel for days.

Why train at Feral?

Clinical Expertise

Led by a Philippine Board Certified Physical Therapist. Your form isn't just corrected. It's understood.

Small by Design

Four reformers. Four students. The attention you'd expect from a private session, at group class pricing.

Themed for Purpose

Every class has intention. Choose based on what your body needs today: power, flexibility, recovery, or play.

CHOOSE YOUR CLASS

LONGEVITY

Move well for the long game.

Longevity classes focus on joint health, mobility, and the movement patterns that keep you active for decades, not just seasons. Less intensity, more intention. This is Pilates as preventive medicine.

BEST FOR: Anyone prioritizing sustainable fitness, injury prevention, or aging with strength.

SURF

Built for the water.

Surf classes develop rotational power, shoulder stability, and the hip mobility that translates directly to performance on the wave. Train the patterns your body actually uses: paddle strength, pop-up power, and the core control that keeps you balanced when the ocean won't.

BEST FOR: Surfers of all levels, SUP paddlers, ocean athletes.

FLEXIBILITY

Strength through length.

Flexibility classes use the Reformer's spring resistance to safely deepen your range of motion while building control at end ranges. This isn't passive stretching. It's active mobility work that your body will actually retain.

BEST FOR: Anyone feeling tight, restricted, or wanting to complement strength training.

FIGHT

Controlled aggression.

Fight classes build the rotational power, core stability, and hip drive that combat sports demand. Quick transitions, explosive movements, and the kind of conditioning that doesn't quit when you're tired.

BEST FOR: Martial artists, boxers, CrossFitters, anyone wanting athletic power.

GROUNDWORK

Where it all begins.

Groundwork covers the fundamental Pilates principles: breath, alignment, core activation, and precision. Whether you're new to Pilates or returning after time away, these classes rebuild your foundation so everything else works better.

BEST FOR: Beginners, anyone returning to movement, those wanting to refine technique.

PRIVATE SESSIONS

One hour. One instructor. Complete attention on you.

Private sessions aren't just smaller classes. They're a different experience entirely. Your instructor watches every movement, adjusts every angle, and builds a session around your body's specific needs. No waiting for others. No modifications shouted across the room. Just focused, intelligent work that meets you exactly where you are.

CHOOSE YOUR SESSION

PRIVATE SOLO

P2,300 · 60 minutes

The ultimate in personalized attention. Your instructor designs the entire session around your goals, limitations, and progress. Every cue is for you. Every adjustment is immediate. This is where transformation accelerates.

We begin with a brief assessment: posture, movement patterns, areas of concern. Then we work. Expect to be challenged in ways that group classes can't offer, and supported in ways that make hard things possible.

BEST FOR: Anyone wanting faster progress, working around injuries, or preparing for a specific goal (event, trip, competition).

PRIVATE DUET

P3,800 · 60 minutes (P1,900 per person)

Bring a partner, friend, or travel companion. Duets offer the personalization of private sessions with the energy of shared experience. Your instructor manages both of you, adjusting exercises to different levels while keeping the session cohesive.

There's something powerful about transforming alongside someone you know. You push each other. You witness each other's progress. And the cost per person drops significantly.

BEST FOR: Couples, friends traveling together, or anyone who thrives with a training partner.

CLINICAL PILATES

P2,500 · 60 minutes

Where rehabilitation meets strength. Clinical Pilates is private instruction with a physical therapy lens, designed for people managing injuries, chronic pain, post-surgical recovery, or conditions that require extra care.

Allegra's background as a Philippine Board Certified Physical Therapist makes this possible. She reads your movement differently. She understands what's compensation and what's dysfunction. She knows when to push and when to protect.

This isn't gentle stretching disguised as therapy. It's rigorous, progressive work within safe boundaries.

BEST FOR: Post-injury rehabilitation, chronic pain management, pre/post-surgical conditioning, hypermobility, scoliosis, or any condition requiring clinical oversight.

Dianne · Dentist · lives in Siargao

My name is Dianne. I live here now, but originally I'm from Isabela, the northernmost part of the Philippines. So I'm here in Siargao as a dentist. The first time I came here, of course, I was very nervous, but when I came here you guys made me feel at ease. After a few sessions, I tried doing group classes, and I'm doing mat now, because I'm really introverted. This is the only time I have for me. So I love coming here at least an hour a day. I have time for me. Well, I love that the Founding 40 offered me many different things, with the massage, Pilates, sound healing. I wanted to try that because I really love Pilates, I really love the studio, I really love you guys. So I want to try everything that you offer, because I know probably I'm going to enjoy that. I love consistency for me, because I have also work and then I come here, I try maybe every other day. So I want to build like a practice, to come here, to work on myself, to meet new people, with Feral, with Pilates, with the membership, the subscription. I think it's good for locals too, because you're going to build your practice for yourself. Like, you can try new things, and with the local rate too, that's amazing for me. So trying new things, it's not just for tourists, it's definitely for locals too, because Pilates is such a good practice. I would recommend Feral to people who wants to have anything outside of work, because me before, I only do work and then go home, that's the cycle for me. So when I discovered Feral, when I discovered Pilates with Allegra, it opened up so many doors for me. Not just Pilates, it opened up surfing. So that's amazing. For locals, this is a very, very good space, because you can have practice and then it's a really, really good community as well.

Cathy · Business owner · United Kingdom

Hi, I'm Catherine. I run a business in the UK, which is Beauty Studio. I came here in Siargao to reset and slow down and focus on my health. I found out about Feral on Google, which is you have the best review. So I came here and ever since then I don't want to leave. So every day I'm here and all the instructors are amazing. That's why I love it. Owning a Beauty Studio in the UK, you're always sitting, your back so painful. So my physio therapist said like, you need to focus on pilates. So by doing it, my life just changed. So I don't get any pain anymore. And ever since then, I feel so good inside and out. And I can see the difference. It's such a small island. You never think that, oh wow, there's such a pilates studio. Look how beautiful Feral is. I'm impressed. When I came in, the customer service, everyone's so friendly, especially the owner. I love her so much. Like you get that connection with her and you feel comfortable. They make you feel comfortable. I used to be really shy talking, but you know, I feel like I'm home. I think in the UK, I've done a lot of classical. It's so different. And I was so surprised. That was like, wow, the classical here is more like they focus on your posture and the positioning. They want to make sure that you're in the right position. They really guide you throughout. And which I like about that is that you only got four beds. So you can focus more. And that's what I want. And also, the classical was super easy back home. I'm not even joking. But here, I was like, oh my God, it's so hard. But I like that. It's the pain, you know, no pain, no gain, right? So yeah, I'm so pleased about that. That's why I'm always like, if I could find a slot for, for reformer, I'll try to get in there. But you're always fully booked guys. It's mostly my abs. So I can see the difference. You know, like when you go on holiday, you just love to drink every day, eat all you can. But by doing this, I've been here for a month now. And I haven't, you know, like gained anything. So I'm so happy about that. That was just my main goal. You know, going on holiday is such a dream. Focus on your fitness as well. And yeah, I'm very blessed to find, I'm so grateful to find you guys. And I don't want to leave, you know, go back. I just want to stay here. Oh my God, to everyone. I'm not even joking. Friends, family, anyone, if I bump into someone in the coffee shop, anyway, I always recommend Feral.

Chris · Villa owner · from Australia

My name is Chris. I'm from Australia. I originally came to Siargao in 2020 and then had the opportunity to come and start a villa business here more recently. So once I got here, I think fitness, surfing, obviously, is pretty popular in Siargao. But my fitness, having undertaken a bit of Pilates and Reformer prior to moving here from Australia meant that I had to sort of sort out and source out where I could do that here. So coming across Feral, I was pretty excited when I first got here and having to look back. Other than being old and dealing with all the aches and pains of getting older, I really wanted to work on my flexibility, my core strength. So I noticed when I originally started doing Reformer in Australia, but that was very much group classes of around about 20 beds. So coming here and starting with Feral, having a more intimate setting of just the four beds, a little bit more direct coaching from the instructors. I've really noticed that, yeah, my flexibility has improved a lot. My strength has improved a lot and that just overall helped your general well-being. The experience at Feral has been awesome. I think there's, you know, the community aspect. It's a great way to meet people, not just other people coming to Reformer, but the instructors and the community around Feral. I was surprised at just, I guess, the complexity of the equipment. It's not just a standard Reformer bed or at least what I'm used to. So it's been really interesting to kind of get into a different style and particularly going through the different, you know, fight, surf, longevity sort of classes with each one offering a little bit different has been super, super cool. What I love about Feral is probably the instructors. I don't know, it probably sounds a little bit whack, but the fact that each instructor offers a little bit something different. There's a difference in class, but then the difference in instructors means that you get a little bit and take a little bit away from each individual session. Some work you harder in other areas and others, you know, help you really focus on things like breathing and other things that you really need to work on. So it's the variety, you know, like any fitness, you know, variety is the spice of life. Since coming to Feral, I think I've really noticed my flexibility increase. You know, it's something stupid. It's like I could never cross my legs. So just being able to sort of sit and cross my legs on the beach now, you know, whilst reading a book or something like that, something very, very small. But, you know, that's something that you really notice the effects of Reformer, just with little things like that. And certainly my strength has increased as well. Look, I'd recommend Reformer and Feral in particular to anybody, anybody that's looking to improve their wellness, their fitness. Again, you can take anything away from a class, whether it be flexibility, whether it be core strength, whether it be community, it's got something for everyone. So just recommend it for everyone and, you know, don't delay, just start. If anyone's thinking of trying Reformer for the first time or coming to Feral for the first time, just do it. Don't delay, you know, like anything in life. The first step is the hardest one. So you get to a class, there's no judgment, there's nothing to stress about, and you'll be walked through, you know, all of the exercises and things like that. So yeah, don't delay, just start.

Rianna · Moved here on a whim

Hello, my name is Rianna Retamal and I came to Siargao on a whim with my fiance. We saw a friend visit and we thought that's where we want to live so we just packed up all of our things and left and now we're here. My partner actually found Feral Studio and thought it would be perfect for me so that's why we're here. Well I guess with travelling you find that working out can be quite difficult and to find time to be even motivated so I guess for me that was mine and Feral Studio kind of like a slower more inclusive movement which I really like and you know for somebody who took a while off working out this was like the perfect kind of balance for me so I really appreciate it. Definitely my headspace has been a big one for me. I'm so grateful for that as well because being away from friends and family travelling can really take a toll on you so being here and being able to you know leave all that behind and just focus on moving your body and feeling good about yourself that's been a huge one for me so thank you. Who would you recommend this for? Every living being who comes to Siargao honestly it's so much fun here and I would actually recommend it to everybody of my friends and family who've come to visit so I'm very excited for them to do it.

Four reformers. Four students. Your first class is waiting.

ALLEGRA DE BORJA, PTRP

Co-Founder, Head of Pilates · Philippine Board Certified Physical Therapist · Merrithew-Trained Stott Pilates Instructor

At 18, Allegra was hospitalized with vasculitis, an autoimmune condition that nearly destroyed her kidneys and heart. Lying in that cold hospital bed in British Columbia, she heard a whisper: "Your body is all you truly have." She left her physics degree and returned to the Philippines to study Physical Therapy, eventually passing the national board exam and training in Stott Pilates under Merrithew. She's practiced in hospitals across three Philippine islands.

Her own scoliosis led her to Pilates. Her unmedicated childbirth proved its power. Now she brings both clinical precision and lived experience to every session, whether you're rehabbing an injury, preparing your body for surf, or simply learning to trust what it already knows.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need Pilates experience to attend a group class?

No experience needed. Our group classes welcome all levels, from complete beginners to experienced practitioners. Instructors provide modifications so everyone works at their appropriate level. If you're brand new, start with a Groundwork class to learn the fundamentals.

What's the difference between Reformer and Mat Pilates?

Reformer uses a specialized machine with springs that provide variable resistance, allowing for more precise muscle targeting. Mat Pilates uses your body weight. A network meta-analysis in the Journal of Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy found Pilates among the most effective interventions for chronic pain, outperforming aerobic exercise (Source). Most people find the Reformer more engaging for strength. Mat builds core stability you can practice anywhere. Try both via our class schedule, or visit the dedicated Mat Pilates page for mat-only sessions.

How many people are in a Reformer class?

Group Reformer classes are limited to 4 participants. We have 4 reformers. This small size ensures you get personalized attention and form corrections in every session.

What should I wear / bring?

Wear comfortable, form-fitting workout clothes. Avoid loose or baggy clothing that can catch in the equipment. Grip or regular socks are required for Reformer classes (available for purchase at the studio). Bring water and arrive 10 minutes early for your first class.

What are the class themes?

Each theme targets specific movement patterns: Surf builds rotational power and balance. Fight develops core strength and explosive power. Longevity focuses on mobility and joint health. Flexibility improves range of motion. Groundwork covers fundamental Pilates principles, perfect for beginners.

What's the difference between Solo, Duet, and Clinical sessions?

Solo sessions are private one-on-one instruction tailored to your goals. Duets let you share a session with a partner or friend. Clinical Pilates is specifically for injury rehabilitation or chronic conditions, led by our licensed Physical Therapist. View private session options and pricing.

Can I attend if I have an injury?

Yes, book a Clinical Pilates session instead of a group class. Allegra is a Philippine Board Certified Physical Therapist who specializes in rehabilitation. She'll assess your injury and build a safe program around it. A systematic review of 14 clinical trials found PT-supervised Pilates is one of the most effective interventions for chronic pain (Source). For lighter recovery options, explore massage, yoga, or sound healing across our other studios.

Where is Feral Pilates located?

We're inside SOS Gym in Malinao, Siargao. 1st Floor, Unit 3. About a 10-minute drive from General Luna/Cloud 9.

What are the studio hours?

Open Monday through Saturday. Closed Sundays. Class times vary, check our live schedule for available sessions.
